Knowledge Organisers

Knowledge organisers can be used by students to encourage independent study and revision to support learning. Each subject provides an overview of some of the key content for their subject. The Knowledge Organiser allows you to see, at a glance, what fundamental knowledge you need to succeed in lessons, assessments and examinations.

How to use the Knowledge Organisers

  1. As you go through lessons, check what you are learning against your knowledge organiser for your subjects.  It will help you to understand what is being taught and what you have to learn for long term success.
  2. Keep an electronic copy of your Knowledge Organisers on your iPad so that you can study independently.
  3. Choose a subject to focus on, read the Knowledge Organiser, use online resources to extend your learning.
  4. Create flashcards for keywords, with definitions.
  5. Highlight parts of the Knowledge Organiser where you are not clear on how to do something or what it means.  Ask your teacher to go over it again.
  6. Tick off content that you know, can explain and write answers about.
  7. Ask your family to test you on the content of each topic
  8. Make revision notes, posters and diagrams to support your learning using the information on the Knowledge Organisers.
