Wider Safety and Risk is taught in a spiral curriculum by experts appropriate to age and stage with clear ground rules for each class, responsive to local and national initiatives. Some is standard e.g: Road safety for Yr7, Yr11 and Yr12, Medicines (within Drug, Alcohol and Tobacco education) and some is responsive e.g: Know Knives, Drug education with East Sussex Police, County Lines and Consent Theatre productions. Staff training is updated regularly to ensure currency in matters such as: Consent and Safety, cyber crime, gambling, extremism

Economic Understanding is part of career education at all ages such as planning for your future and your priorities: including budgeting and taxation, National Insurance awareness.

Online Safety is delivered through PSHEe  and subject based curriculum. Both subjects and whole College approaches cover understanding of a range of relevant content, such as: the Online Safety Policy and ICT Use Agreement, experience of the use of Jamf and monitoring systems through the iPad scheme. Further discussions and perspectives are explored through units on the impact of social media and use of Media.

Students are able to engage and see the positive influences and impact of their own creativity with Heathfield TV, Radio and The Vine whilst being educated on the nature and experience of Fake News and reliability: extremist views and content through a range of subjects (English, History, Media for example)
