Therefore, we try to reward both individual and group rewards based on the collective effort we all make.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Individual<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Individual achievement, attendance and high standards of courtesy and behaviour are all celebrated at College. Throughout the College praises are awarded by staff for achievement, effort and contribution to College values and aspirations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-columns is-layout-flex wp-container-core-columns-is-layout-9d6595d7 wp-block-columns-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-column is-vertically-aligned-center is-layout-flow wp-block-column-is-layout-flow\" style=\"flex-basis:50%\">\n<p><strong>Praise Points<\/strong> are tiered at three levels P1, P2 &amp; P3.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"indent\">Students can be awarded a P1 or P2 for displaying the Heathfield Habits and making a positive contribution in the classroom or across the wider College community. These are not set each year and can be adapted according to priority or evidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>House based awards<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group indent\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<p>House competitions throughout the term lead to both individual and team prizes, all of which accumulate House points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Houses are presented with a termly cup and reward based on the accumulation of house points over the term. Awards and certificates will be presented to a number of students in each year group.&nbsp; These include \u2018Effort &amp; Progress\u2019 and \u2018Excellence\u2019 awards as well as the traditional Heathfield awards which are the Tony Russell, Gill Holtham, Paul Delderfield and Chris Gully Awards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All subjects and year groups nominate, nomination will not necessarily lead to an Effort &amp; Progress Award, however, every student nominated by a teacher will receive a message from the College celebrating their nomination<\/p>\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>The Tony Russell Award<\/h2>\n<div class=\"tab\">This award is presented annually to one student from each year group for exceptional achievement. The award is for someone who has achieved over and above their call of duty or ability in any field. They have made contributions to the College as well as excelling in a number of fields, including but not limited to, academic subject areas, sport or the Arts.<br \/><!--Tony Russell was Deputy Head here for 21 years, from 1966 until 1987 when he retired. Unfortunately, he died during the summer holidays immediately after leaving school. His wife, Dot Russell, who also worked here as a secretary, set up this award as a way of remembering Tony. The Awards are presented annually to one student from each year group for exceptional achievement. Please note that this is not just for those students who have sat in class and not been a problem, but for anyone who has achieved over and above their call of duty or ability in any field. These achievements can be related to a number of areas, such as: Service to the College, academic excellence\/effort\/progress, sport, music, drama, etc. Whilst it is intended that recognition primarily be given to achievement within the college, efforts outside the college, such as service to the community, are also considered. Nominations for the award can come from all sections of the college including students, staff and parents. Nominations can be given to form tutors or subject staff who would then pass them to the appropriate Head of Year. The Head of Year then draws up a short list of students for consideration with a short report, indicating the areas of achievement.
