Batemans

Batemans is a beautiful, picturesque old mansion that was built in 1634. Centuries later, in 1902, it became the home of the author Rudyard Kipling. His most well-known book was probably the wonderful Jungle Book which later became a Disney sensation.

Today, Batemans is a National Trust site that is open to visits from tourists and locals who enjoy relaxing walks in the English countryside. There are a couple of gift shops, a team room, acres of land to explore and events are routinely put on throughout the year.
