Red Nose Day 2022

Students of Heathfield Community College showed great compassion and consideration in raising money for those in need for our Term 4 charity – Comic Relief.  The Values Leaders were out and about at lunchtime all week selling Red Noses and encouraging students to ‘Guess the Teacher’ (staff photos have been hidden behind Red Noses).

Daily prizes were won by students in the ‘Guess the Teacher’ competition and Friday 18th March saw some hotly contested ‘nose and spoon’ races at lunchtime.

The PE, Drama and Food Tech departments kindly lent equipment for the obstacle course where students had to weave, duck and hurdle over obstacles and put on hats all while balancing a Red Nose on a wooden spoon. Each race had up to 5 competitors with the first person over the line winning a Freddo.

With the tragic events in Ukraine, the Executive Council met decided that the money raised would be split between Comic Relief and a Disasters Emergency Committee charity focused on supporting Ukraine.

It was wonderful to see the thoughtful compassion and consideration that our students have shown by supporting the events during the week and they managed to raise a grand total of £1,157.36.
