Special Education Needs & Disabilities (SEND)

Introduction

The College has a policy of Learning Support for all students with special educational needs, regardless of ability. A dedicated Learning Support team works to ensure that appropriate provision is made for all students.  We have developed expertise in supporting students on the autistic spectrum and aim to ensure that the college environment and curriculum is accessible to these students. As an inclusive school all staff take responsibility for ensuring that learning is accessible to all students.

Teaching & Learning

Support is offered in a variety of ways including extra support in curriculum lessons, working in smaller groups and one-to–one or small group withdrawal. Our aim is to provide flexible and highly individualised support tailored to the needs of the student.

Facilities

We have 5 rooms, two of which have SMART boards and projectors for use with small groups. We have a wide range of resources to support students across the curriculum. We offer a range of activities for students at break and lunch times, who wish to have a quieter place to come at these times.
