Online-Safety

Introduction

The Heathfield Community College Online-Safety curriculum is designed to support all students (and their parents!) in becoming safe and responsible users of the internet and mobile digital devices.  We firmly believe in teaching students about the awareness of risks and in managing those risks when using the internet for fun, for learning and for work.

Teaching & Learning

The college sees online-safety as a whole college issue.  As a result we take more than one approach to the teaching and learning of online safety.

  • Mindfulness of online-safety issues is integrated into every lesson where internet enabled devices are being used.
  • Dedicated lessons within the Computing curriculum
  • Dedicated lessons within the PSHEE curriculum
  • Assemblies
  • Tutor time activities
  • Parents information evenings
