We have been informed that the 252 will be unable to run its normal route through the village of Rotherfield and there will be a shuttle bus service for students travelling to/from the village from next Monday, 24 June. As with the previous temporary arrangement for Rotherfield, the shuttle bus will meet with the Stagecoach buses at Mark Cross. Journeys at school times will be:
- In the mornings, starting from Monday, young people should use the shuttle bus which will start at the ‘Meadow View’ bus stop in Mayfield Road (west side) at 7.39am. The bus will serve all normal service 252 stops through Rotherfield and Town Row to Mark Cross. Young people should note that they should be waiting on the opposite side of the road to normal in the mornings. The shuttle bus will meet with the Stagecoach bus in the ‘back road’ at Mark Cross. This will depart at 7.50am.
- In the afternoons, also starting from Monday, young people should catch the 252 from the College as usual. The bus will run via the ‘back road’ at Mark Cross and stop outside Mark Cross Inn where it is due at 3.37pm. The shuttle bus should arrive at around the same time and is scheduled to depart at 3.47pm. It will then take passengers into Rotherfield, as far as the ‘Meadow View’ stop. The shuttle vehicle will, of course, observe stops on the opposite side of the road than normal in the afternoons.
The shuttle bus will be operated by Autocar and will bear the route number ‘952’.
